Tom B. Pickens III
Mr. Pickens, a successful and highly regarded entrepreneur, is the
Managing Partner for Texas Nanotech Ventures (TNT Ventures). Mr.
Pickens, a member of the Company's Board of Directors since 2003,
became President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2007. He is
also the Managing Partner and Founder of Tactic Advisors, Inc., a
company specializing in corporate turnarounds on behalf of creditors
and investors that have aggregated to over $20 billion in value.
Concurrently, he is President of T.B. Pickens & Co. which has acted
as both advisor and principal of corporate acquisitions now totaling
over $10 billion and numerous transactions.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Pickens has founded and served
as Chairman and CEO for many companies during the startup, growth, and
turnaround phases of a company's lifecycle, with an emphasis in value
creation. From 1983 to date, Mr. Pickens has been the Founder and
President of Beta Computer Systems; Managing Partner, Grace Pickens
Acquisition Partners, L.P.; Managing Partner, Sumter Partners L.P.;
Chairman and CEO of Catalyst Energy Corporation (NYSE); Chairman,
United Thermal Corporation (NYSE); President, Golden Bear Corporation;
President, Slate Creek Corporation; President, Eury Dam Corporation;
Chairman, Century Power Corporation; President, Vidalia Hydroelectric
Corporation; Managing Partner, Pickens Capital Income Fund, L.P.;
Chairman, The Code Corporation; and President, U.S. Utilities, Inc.
Mr. Pickens has also served in the capacity representing the Office of
the Chairman, Mirant Equity Committee (NYSE) and Director, Optifab,
Inc. (NASDAQ). He is currently Director, Trenwick America Corporation
and Director, Advocate MD.

Mike Samouce
Mr. Samouce is a Partner for Texas Nanotech Ventures (TNT Ventures) and
focuses on TNT Ventures’ business development, providing investment
possibilities for investors in nanotechnology and has worked closely
with financial institutions and private investors toward this end. Mike
brings a rich mixture of experience in venture funding,
telecommunications, private placements, IPOs, and the institutional
fixed income securities markets. Mr. Samouce established Applied
Quantitative Solutions, LLC in Austin, Texas and US Arbour Financial in
Houston, Texas where as a partner he was involved in the day to day
operations as a regional broker/dealer. He recognizes the needs of
nanotechnology investors and currently dedicates his efforts toward
leadership in this area. It was his dynamic background in venture
capital investing, holding various securities licenses, and a BBA in
Management from The University of Texas at Austin that lead him to this
venture. |

Mark Adams
Mr. Adams is a partner in Texas Nanotech Ventures and a successful entrepreneur. In 2007, he was a finalist in the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
He is the founder of Advocate, MD Financial Group, Inc., a leading Texas-based medical liability insurance holding company, and currently serves as its Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Adams also serves as Chairman of the Board of Advocate, MD Insurance of the Southwest, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company.
Adams is also a founding partner in several other companies including:
- Endowment Development Group Inc., a Houston-based life insurance company specializing in placing large multimillion dollar life insurance policies throughout the US market
- Cattlemen's Restaurant Group LLC, which owns and operates Bob's Steak and Chop House Restaurants in Texas
- Murphy Adams Restaurant Group LP, which owns and operates Mama Fu's Asian House restaurant chain throughout the US
- Viva Chocolato! LLC, which owns and operates specialty chocolate retail stores in Texas
Establishing himself as a top sales producer early in his career with global public companies such as Xerox and Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Adams then spent the next 12 years at Bostik Adhesives where he served in senior management, sales and strategic business roles for their worldwide markets in North America, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Mr. Adams then served as Global Sales Director for Bostik and General Manager of Nitta-Findley Company based in Osaka, Japan and later joined Ward Adhesives, Inc. as a minority owner, General Manager, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing where he led the company to unprecedented growth in sales and net income.
Mr. Adams holds a B.B.A. Degree in Marketing from Texas State University and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Texas State University McCoy School of Business. Additionally, Mr. Adams is a Director of six other organizations including SpaceHab, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAB), Northstar Ventures, and other privately held and non-profit organizations.
